Educational Resources & Tech Equipment

Updated: May 22

There has been an increasing amount of inquiries lately about what resources, filming and tech equipment I use so I've decided to create a space where I can list my recommended and tested products for you to consider when studying, teaching, and creating content.

I will continue to add to and update this list as needed. Anything listed on this page is being recommended because I have personally used, reviewed, researched, and trust the product / resource.

Some links are affiliate links which means I may earn a small commission if you decide to purchase through that link.

EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES & MATERIALS

The ABC's and All Their Tricks by Margaret M. Bishop This book serves as a COMPLETE "Reference book of PHONICS and SPELLING" and is a fantastic resource for any adult learner trying to understand the WHY behind English spelling + pronunciation. It is easy to read and instantly makes the information click. If you are someone who struggles to decode and break down words, sound things out, or have questions as to why certain words are pronounced they way they are or do or don't follow patterns, this is a MUST to add to your collection.

TED Talks: The Official TED Guide to Public Speaking by Chris Anderson any fans of the TED program will appreciate the insights and strategies offered by this book.

American Accent Training by Ann Cook is a great guide for beginners trying to tackle the nuances of the General American Accent. I often reference her tables and tongue twisters when training my clients on specific sounds, but would not rely solely on this book as the only resource to support learning.

ELSA SPEAK App I've been recommending this app for the last 4 years and encourage all of my clients to download and incorporate the activities into their daily homework practice. This is a great place to start, especially for anyone who doesn't have access to speaking partners or can't afford 1:1 coaching.

EQUIPMENT

FlexiSpot Standing Desk Save $15 off your order of $150 or more! We went with Electric Height Adjustable Standing Desk EC3 in white which includes a dual motor, height presets, and was fairly straightforward to assemble. This desk has been one of our greatest investments because of the versatility that it offers. I don't know how I functioned without this kind of desk for so long!

Yeti Blue Microphone Highly recommend investing in a good quality microphone if you are someone who plans on continuing to work and speak virtually.

Cannon 5D Camera My husband invested in this camera and the lens linked below years before we met, and we used it for a few of my youtube videos and professional headshots. If you can manage the set-up, it makes a huge difference in quality and appearance.

Desview Teleprompter Great for reading through scripts prepared for youtube or recorded content.

Oktava Small Diaphragm Microphone for a more intimiate, up-close audio quality without having to sit directly in front of the mic. It does require a stand to hold it up to your desired position.

ESDDI Softbox Photography Lighting I use 2 of these in my set-up at all times.

Let me know if you have any questions about something not listed here :)

Until next time...
